Snitch作为一个动词，有“告发、举报、透露”的意思，正式的意思是“向当局透露有关某个人的有害或者秘密情报，而不是公开发表的”。而在俚语里，snitch还有“背叛”的意思，表达“spy on or betray a person, group, or organization”的含义，比如：
He snitched on his brother by telling his mother what his brother was really up to.
他背叛了他哥哥，把他哥哥真正在做什么告诉了他母亲。
要想表达“把某人出卖到当局当中”就可以用这个词，这个词也可用来表达“开口，将别人出卖”的意思，比如：
