英语单词“investment mould”是指一种用于制造精密铸件的模具。它也被称为“lost wax casting”，或称为“熔模铸造”。
这种模具主要用于制造高精度、复杂形状的零部件，如航空发动机叶轮、燃烧室等。制造过程中，先用蜡模制作出铸件的尺寸、形状等要求，然后用熔蜡注入到模型空心内部，制作成可硬化的原型。接着将原型浸入到涂有细粉末状陶瓷的容器中，使其表面均匀的被陶瓷粉末覆盖。再用高温烘干，使其表面硬化，构成一层耐高温、高硬度、光滑的陶瓷壳。将熔金属倒入陶瓷壳内，待冷却定型后，就可以脱模得到精密铸件。
