contrastive stress的用法详解
英语单词contrastive stress（对比强调）是指在语言中，当出现某个词的重音位置和同一句子中其他词的重音位置相比，某个词的重音强度要大于其他词的重音强度。即，句中部分词语的“强调”是为了和另一些词语形成对比。
例如，句子“How are you?”中，“how”承受着强调，而“are”和“you”则没有受到同样的重视。更为具体的说，“how”受到了contrastive stress，它的重音强度比“are”和“you”的重音强度大。
contrastive stress可以使句子的意思变得更加清晰，使句子成为口语化，但其用法还是有一定的规定的，不能任意使用，要合理地把握。
例如，在句子\"Why don't you stay?\"中，\"why\"应该受到contrastive stress，而\"don't\"和\"you\"不受到contrastive stress，其重音强度要大于\"don't\"和\"you\"的重音强度。换句话说，应该重读\"why\"，而其他两个单词均应轻读。
