conflict of law(s)，又称private international law，是指法律与法律之间存在冲突情况时所采取的解决办法。它规定了个案中解决法律冲突的原则和程序，旨在确定在两个或多个法律系统之间适用哪一种法律。
在国际私法中，冲突法主要用于解决不同国家和社会中法律制度不一致的情况。比如，当一个国家的法律与另一个国家的法律存在冲突时，冲突法可以根据两个国家的法律条件确定哪一种法律适用。
冲突法的主要原则是法律具有空间约束效力，即每个国家的法律系统在适用范围上只限于本国的领土，所以当两个国家有不同的法律时，冲突法就可以解决这种法律冲突问题。
冲突法采用三种方法来解决冲突，即捕获法、法律补充法和客观法。捕获法就是选择由当事人所在的国家的法律来解决法律冲突；法律补充法则采取本国法律作为解决依据，若本国法律不能解决冲突问题，则采用外国法律补充本国法律；客观法是指根据权利人的民族、国籍、居住地、经营地等连接关系，确定由哪一种法律来解决法律冲突。
