Compression check是指检测发动机运行时缸体内的压缩状况，即检测发动机的活塞有无泄漏，每一个气缸是否有良好的压缩。
通常实施压缩检查法，可以按照以下步骤：
1. 首先，确保发动机是冷却状态，即关闭热车开关；
2. 将压力表放在气缸体内，并用液压臂将它固定住；
3. 将放大器插在发动机的火花塞端子上；
4. 启动发动机，并保持在2000-2500转/分钟；
5. 检查在低速、中速、高速时的压载，如果压载没有达标，说明发动机存在压力泄漏，需要检修；
6. 停止发动机，拔出放大器和压力表，完成压缩检查。
