Compound style在英语文章写作中是指使用复合句的文体，一般用来描述复杂话题，使文章变得更加紧凑、精练。英语中的复合句可以分为单个复合句和多个复合句，前者由两个句子组成，表示一种关系或变化；而后者可以由多个句子组成，表示多个关系或变化。
单个复合句一般由一个主句和一个从句组成，主句通常有谓语动词，从句用来说明主句，常用连词如after, although, before, since, when, while, so that, as if 等来连接。例如：She read the news while he made breakfast. 她读新闻的同时他做早饭。
多个复合句的结构更复杂，一般由主句和多个从句组成。常用的连词有and, but, or, yet, so, for。例如：He cooked dinner, but his mother cleaned up the kitchen and his father washed the dishes. 他做了晚饭，但是他的母亲收拾了厨房，他的父亲洗了碗。
